What happens next?
You will meet with a Case Manager who will help you evaluate your academic, occupational and job seeking skills. Depending on your individual needs, you may be referred to one of many types of training. If it is determined that you need skill training to secure employment, your case manager will start an Individual Training Account (ITA) for you. The ITA is what pays for your training.

Are there any other requirements for training?
Remember, you must be determined to be eligible for, and approved for, WIA activities BEFORE you begin any training.
You must have documented Soft Skills prior to entering skills training. If you do not currently have soft skills, you can obtain them through "Hit the Ground Running," a program which covers basic educational skills, introductory computer skills, job readiness, teamwork, and other important job-related skills. WorkKeys (a national testing and screening tool) is administered during the final week of the Hit the Ground Running class.
Please Note: The goal of the WorkForce WV Center and the Workforce Investment Board is to get the best possible employment for everyone who lives in the nine counties of our Region 4 area. Therefore, priority will be given to residents of Region 4 or to individuals dislocated or displaced from employers or homes located within the Region 4 area.
